Photos and video footage have revealed exactly what is going on behind the scenes at one of Derby’s much-anticipated new housing developments.
The Nightingale Quarter, on London Road, has been under construction for a number of weeks and these photos taken by Derbyshire Live show just how much progress has been made.
Despite some of the hurdles caused by the pandemic, building work to the huge city centre development has been able to push ahead, and the first few houses are visible already.
Scaffolding can be seen surrounding the iconic pepper pot buildings, which will be reconstituted as community hubs, and the outline of roads and walkways can also be discerned between the houses.
Construction vehicles are hard at work to complete the first phase of 125 apartments and houses, with the second phase expected to be released by the end of this year.
Ashley Adams, the estate agents managing the sale of the properties, said all but six of the first phase homes have been reserved by prospective homeowners.
The properties are available from £185k for a two-bed and £220k for a three-bed.
