Police have issued an appeal for witnesses after a car was forced from the road in Erewash this evening (November 29).
Officers were called to the scene on Ladywood Road, Kirk Hallam, shortly before 5.30pm.
A flatbed truck reportedly shed its load of hay on the road before leaving the scene.
The obstruction then forced a silver people carrier from the highway, leaving it nose-first in a hedge.
Posting about the incident on social media, Derbyshire Constabulary described an appeal for witnesses as the ‘last straw’.
The truck is believed to have been heading in the direction of Spondon.
A police spokesperson said: “In a ‘last straw’ attempt to locate witnesses, we are issuing this appeal.
“At 5.25pm this evening, a flatbed vehicle travelling towards Spondon lost an insecure load of hay before ‘baling’ the scene, causing this collision.”
Anyone with information they believe may be of assistance to police is asked to call 101 quoting Incident 769.
