Casualty cut free from wreckage after car flips over in Derby

A road traffic collision in Derby left one person injured and a car flipped over today, Thursday, July 9.

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service reported that they had attended the two-car incident today.

The road traffic collision happened at around 3.45pm today in Mickleover.

Two cars were involved in the incident which took place in Brisbane Road which was closed while the damaged vehicles were removed from the street.

Dramatic pictures from the scene show a red car flipped onto its side.

There is also a silver car which appears to have damage to the front left-hand side.

Firefighters from Kingsway and Nottingham Road Fire Station attended the scene to help.

In a tweet, Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that one person had been trapped inside one of the vehicles.

The casualty was released from the car and left in the care of East Midlands Ambulance Service.

A spokesperson for the fire service said there were no more details on the condition of the injured party or the incident.
