Derby is predicted to be warmer than Paris and Istanbul today, according to the Met Office.
Thursday’s temperature of 19 degrees makes Derby hotter than many of Europe’s most well-known spots.
Florence in Italy and Istanbul in Turkey will be seeing temperatures of 18 degrees today and both are predicted to match Derby’s temperature tomorrow.
Elsewhere the capital of France will only reach a placid 17 degrees today.
However don’t be planning any autumn barbecues though, as the increase in temperature is only forecast to stay for two days.
Unfortunately the two day temperature boom will only bring a few sunny intervals, with an overwhelmingly cloudy prediction for the foreseeable future.
Temperatures are predicted to return to a more common autumn climate by the start of next week.
A Met Office spokesperson said: “Although chilly at first, temperatures are likely to be around or a little above normal for the time of year, but with chilly nights at times too”.
