We Are What We Overcome

23 March @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

£13

Come and join us for an upbeat evening of live vibrant indie pop music, with thought-provoking comedy and stories about coming to a place of good mental health.

It’s the first night of the tour, the album launch and the book launch – and we’d love to see you!

2018: rather than see a psychiatrist, Matt, a musician, with no theatrical experience, chose to perform an unwritten show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Now: weaving tales of how he got to and came back from the brink of suicide, this is the path one man took from breakdown to talking publicly.
Matt delivers personal, difficult, and eclectic stories interjected with original songs performed with vocals and guitar.
Nothing is left to implication or to whispers, he talks directly to the audience conjuring an atmosphere of openness and understanding. Split into two halves the show moves fluidly between spoken word and music – a mix of heartfelt stories, self-deprecating humour and original songs. And, there’s always time for a chat post-show

‘Matt deftly walks the line between entertainment and enlightenment’, New Mills Festival
‘A gifted songwriter, with a voice and style reminiscent of Edwyn Collins’, The Scotsman
‘Engaging, moving, honest’,  Three Weeks Edinburgh
‘Original, unique, absolutely brilliant.’,  Buxton Fringe
