One of Derby’s best-known festivals will return to the city centre this October for the second time this year. The Gin and Rum Festival will head to the Chocolate Factory in Siddals Road, on October 22, and bring over 120 gins and rums to sample.
Spirit lovers can try out the hand-picked distilleries from around the world while enjoying live entertainment, and music from an award-winning DJ. This year’s event offers a themed Tequila bar, with up to 20 different authentic tequilas to sip.
Founder of the Gin and Rum Festival, Bobby Nanua, said: “Derby holds a special place in our hearts as it is our home town. It’s great to be able to give something back to the city we all grew up in.
“There is always a great buzz when we come to Derby, it’s infectious and we can’t get enough of it.”
This is the second Gin and Rum Festival in Derby this year, after May’s event. The one-day extravaganza will take place between 12.30 pm and 11 pm. Tickets can be purchased between 12.30 pm to 5 pm and 6.30 pm to 11 pm. for £15 each plus £1.48 Fee.
The cost not only covers entry to the event but a reusable stainless-steel straw and a G&R branded Copa glass with a carry satchel for safe keeping. There will also be complimentary samples and talks from guest distillers.
Mixers and tonics can be picked up for free, and visitors will also receive a guide which includes expertly crafted garnish suggestions. The festival has seen great success in recent years, and now hosts events in some of the UK’s biggest cities, including Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham and Leeds.
