Jobs at Derby council include lollipop people and school workers

1. Public Health Consultant

Directorate: Peoples Services, Department of Public Health

Based in the city centre, this role will work with stakeholders to deliver public health services across the City Council area. While primarily dealing with the council’s COVID-19 response at first, whoever is successful will then move to deliver long-term priorities. Applicants must be on the GMC GDC Specialist Register and the UK Public Health Register for Public Health Specialists.

2. Group Accountant

The council are looking for another accountant to join a team of four group accountants, to help the council deliver financial services.

3. Policy and Consultation Manager

5. Medical Officer

You will be helping students with welfare needs and providing first aid provision, working closely with parents, staff and multi-agency teams. Candidates will need at least two years of relevant experience.

6. Site Manager

This role will help to manage schools which host over 200 pupils, keeping the site running and ensuring health and safety regulations are adhered to. Support and mentoring will be provided, with support from the Facilities Manager.

7. Arborist

This role looks after some of Derby’s most vulnerable and allows the successful candidate to make a difference in people’s lives. It has a rolling rota of four days on, four days off, with working hours from 2:30-10pm.

10. Play Worker

Location: Locality 3 and 4 Children’s Centres (bases are Austin Sunnyhill Children’s Centre, Rosehill Children’s Centre and Becket Children’s Centre)

The successful candidate will help to set up a warm and caring environment for children across the council area, while liaising with families about progress and milestones. Applicants need to have an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent, and experience of working with children from 0-8 years of age.

11. Customer Service Advisor

Contract type: Casual/Relief

Location: City-wide

Salary: £19,312 – £19,698

This role is predominantly based at the city’s Sales and Information Centre, but candidates will also work at Derby Arena and other off-site box offices. Candidates will help to sell event tickets and memberships, help with bookings and provide information to visitors.

12. Teaching Assistant (Level 2)
