Police have revealed how they stopped a learner driver on a busy Derby road – just moments after he failed his driving test.
Officers stopped the Ford Focus driver on Normanton Road on Tuesday.
The Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit released details of the incident on Twitter which attracted dozens of comments and hundreds of likes.
Officers said they stopped the driver precisely 30 minutes after his failed test as “he decided he was good enough (to drive) anyway”.
The learner was given a police ticket as he was caught driving alone while still unqualified. The car he was driving was also seized by police.
The tweet said: “Derby. Just failed his driving test at 10:45. Decided he was good enough anyway so drives off alone in his own car.
“11:15 he is stopped on the way to do some shopping. Ticket and vehicle seized.”
