Live updates as Intu Derby is evacuated by police

The Intu Derby shopping centre has been evacuated by Derbyshire police this evening.

Derbyshire police have announced via social media that the restaurants and leisure venues at Intu Derby have all been evacuated as a precaution.

Derbyshire Live has contacted the police for further information which will be posted below if and when it becomes available.

Derbyshire Live has a reporter at the scene to bring you the latest news as it unfolds.

Although the shops at the shopping centre are closed, there are a number of restaurants, the Showcase Cinema Deluxe, the Paradise Island Adventure Golf and the Hollywood Bowl bowling alley that operate late into the evening.

There is speculation on social media that the evacuation is the result of a suspicious package that has been found in the centre.
