Next stage of roadworks to start on A52 in Derby this week

The next stage of a five-week resurfacing scheme will get underway on the A52 in Derby this week.

Since mid-August, there have been overnight closures on the eastbound carriageway between Raynesway and Junction 25 of the M1.

But maintenance work eastbound is set for completion early this week, allowing two weeks of closures to start westbound from the evening of Wednesday, September 2.

Some other city routes are also due to undergo roadworks this week, according to the one.network and city council websites.

We’ve put together a list – correct as of the evening of Monday, August 31 – of the roadworks taking place in the city.

Overnight resurfacing work on the eastbound carriageway, between Raynesway and Junction 25 of the M1, is expected to be completed by Wednesday, September 2.

This means work can begin on the westbound carriageway, which is set to be closed overnight from Wednesday, September 2, to Tuesday, September 15. The adjoining exit and entry slips will also be closed.

Work is taking place Monday to Friday between 8pm and 6am, excluding Bank Holidays. Highways chiefs say there may also be some occasional weekend closures.

The work westbound will involve resurfacing the carriageway and slip roads, as well as renewing the road markings and road studs.
