Our speeding drivers and where they’ve been caught

Speeding is one of the police’s ‘Fatal Four’ reasons why people are killed and seriously injured on our roads each year.

The others are drink and drug-driving, driving while using a mobile phone and driving while not wearing a seat belt.

The following motorists have all recently been convicted in our courts of the former.

Here is where they were caught and how far over the limit they were:

Abass Nur Mohamed, 25, of Baseball Drive, Pear Tree, was fined £41 and was ordered to pay £110 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with three penalty points for speeding at 37mph in a 30mph limit in London Road, Derby, on July 27, 2020.

Jason Smith, 26, of Horninglow Road North, Burton, was fined £146 and was ordered to pay £110 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and had was disqualified from driving for six months, due to repeat offending, for speeding at 38mph in a 30mph limit in Burton Road, Woodville, on April 9, 2020.

Mahboob Ahmad, 53, of Pear Tree Road, Pear Tree, was fined £82 and was ordered to pay £90 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with three penalty points for speeding at 37mph in a 30mph limit in Abbey Street, Derby, on January 22, 2021.

Thomas Allen, 31, of Randolph Road, Derby, was fined £220 and was ordered to pay £90 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with three penalty points for speeding at 40mph in a 30mph limit in Deep Dale Lane, Derby, on February 22, 2021.

Ronni Barker, 53, of Station Road, Derby, was fined £244 and was ordered to pay £90 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and had her licence endorsed with three penalty points for speeding at 57mph in a 50mph limit in Brian Clough Way, Derby, on February 5, 2021.

Jacqueline Bishop, 56, of Birchwood Lane, South Normanton, was fined £100 and was ordered to pay £90 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and had her licence endorsed with three penalty points for speeding at 36mph in a 30mph limit in Nottingham Road, Ripley, on February 9, 2021.

Nathan Cox, 22, of Breedon Street, Long Eaton, was fined £83 and was ordered to pay £90 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with three penalty points for speeding at 36mph in a 30mph limit in Derby Road, Long Eaton, on February 22, 2021.

Richard Fletcher, 60, of Matlock Road, Brackenfield, near Alfreton, was fined £220 and was ordered to pay £90 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with three penalty points for speeding at 39mph in a 30mph limit in Station Road, Bolsover, on February 15, 2021.

Cameron Fox, 53, of Holloway Road, Duffield, was fined £110 and was ordered to pay £90 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with three penalty points for speeding at 60mph in a 50mph limit in Brian Clough Way, Derby, on February 5, 2021.

Lindsey Funnell, 42, of Silverburn Drive, Derby, was fined £269 and was ordered to pay £90 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and had her licence endorsed with three penalty points for speeding at 57mph in a 50mph limit in Brian Clough Way, Derby, on February 13, 2021.

Aaron Gallagher, 39, of Kensal Rise, Derby, was fined £292 and was ordered to pay £90 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with four penalty points for speeding at 43mph in a 30mph limit in Duffield Road, Derby, on February 20, 2021.

Craig Goodwin, 34, of Devonshire Drive, Stapleford, was fined £484 and was ordered to pay £90 costs, a £48 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with six penalty points for speeding at 80mph in a 50mph limit on the M1 near Breaston, on June 7, 2021.

Stewart Gray, 34, of The Waterway, Sandiacre, was fined £280 and was ordered to pay £90 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with four penalty points for speeding at 66mph in a 50mph limit in Painters Lane, Ednaston, on February 21, 2021.

Oliver Hassall, 30, of Poplar Gardens, Burton, was fined £300 and was ordered to pay £90 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with four penalty points for speeding at 41mph in a 30mph limit in Burton Road, Midway, on January 18, 2021.

David Hogg, 64, of Derby Road, Homesford, Matlock, was fined £220 and was ordered to pay £90 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with three penalty points for speeding at 36mph in a 30mph limit in Nottingham Road, Ripley, on February 22, 2021.

Satinder Kaur, 46, of Smalley Drive, Oakwood, was fined £40 and was ordered to pay £90 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and had her licence endorsed with three penalty points for speeding at 65mph in a 50mph limit in Brian Clough Way, Derby, on February 19, 2021.

Anthony Keogh, 46, of King Alfred Street, Derby, was fined £220 and was ordered to pay £90 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with three penalty points for speeding at 37mph in a 30mph limit in Brackens Lane, Derby, on February 19, 2021.
