Plea to identify man badly hurt in Derby crash

A 25-year-old man has been arrested following a crash on the Bonne Prince island which left a man in serious condition in hospital.

He remains in police custody after being arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.

Police had appealed for information and dashcam footage following the crash, which took place at around 3:20am on Bank Holiday Monday on the roundabout connecting Swarkestone Road to junction 3 of the A50.

But police have also appealed for information to help identify the victim, who is currently in hospital with “significant” injuries.

He is believed to be in his 20s or 30s, is white with a stubbly beard and a shaved head.

He was found wearing a red Hungry Horse t-shirt, a black Eider jacket, a black Trespass hooded jacket, grey joggers and black Nike Air 270 trainers.
