Vehicles and fence ravaged by fire in Derby car park

Derbyshire police are appealing for information after a blaze in a Derby car park.

Officers were joined by crews from the Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service at an incident in Jackson Street at around 11.15pm on Tuesday, February 23, after reports that cars were on fire in the road.

Emergency services found that a flatbed van had been set alight and that the flames had spread to four vehicles parked nearby.

Images provided by a Derbyshire Live reader show the extent of the damage, with multiple cars damaged by the blaze.

The flames are also believed to have reached the fence of a neighbouring property, scorching the panels in the process.

Police say they have identified the owners of the vehicles affected and are now investigating the fire as arson.
