A new barber shop in Spondon has opened and its young owner hopes it will be a cut above the rest.
Aram Barbers opened in Sitwell Street earlier this month and is owned by hair stylist Aram Shirvani.
As well as a range of hair cut styles, it offers beard trims with clippers and a hot towel shave.
The 25-year-old, who has worked as a hairdresser in Derby for many years, is now realising his dream by setting up his first shop in the heart of Spondon.
He told Derbyshire Live: “I’ve always wanted my own barbers shop, it’s been my dream. It’s really exciting.
“I’ve been so overwhelmed by people’s comments so far – it’s been a great start and hopefully there is more to come.
“The people of Spondon are so nice and friendly – there’s a great atmosphere here.”

The new barber shop replaces the former Harvey Luke salon which closed at the end of last year.
